Memory Bag Lane

Well with my first Bag I was really proud for many years. There wasn’t a bag in the world prettier… but at a certain time the love faded away! Sometimes it happens but must say for many things my love stays forever. Also because my love for things is “hors mode” … so I follow what goes on but still choose what I like!
After a while being without my love bag….
One day on the airport of Nice all inspired after a lovely week of holiday I saw the perfect one… It was on the way bag our flight was delayed so I strolled through all the shops there was this instant love with a lovely Lancel Sac a dos! I tried to play hard to get and ignored it totally. So once home I felt terrible a stomach ache and I kept thinking, dreaming of it… day and night.
What to do… ok lets phone leather wear at the airport at home. Mmmmm my explanation was ok they did understand what I meant but unfortunately they were not selling this brand… Lancel. I checked out the Yellow pages of the city I live at… nothing… I phoned up the big malls….nothing. Well there is only one thing left to do I have to go to the root of the product. Lancel is a French product so I have to go to Paris. Mmmm my leave days are not sufficient why not phone to Paris. Ok international Telephone directory was able to provide me with the telephone number and I managed to phone the shop at the Champs Elysee.
I told a very kind lady the story about Nice and sleepless nights and what my wishes were.
I had seen the sac a dos in lavender color at Nice airport but I was looking for a turquoise version. Not the big size but the cute small size. She told me the price and it turned out to be better including the freight costs than the tax free price in Nice so my efforts were rewarded.
I made her sent the bag to my office at the time and 3 weeks later. (At that time it still took a long time to get packages from foreign countries.) I had forgotten about it... totally and had to come to the reception of my work. Had no clue what to find at the reception. There it was a huge box with my name on it. ….bag at my office I opened and was as a mum so thrilled with my new baby.
ok again I have no picture yet. But it was one of these types and then in pretty turquoise like the next photo.
Can you imagine what a lovely time I had. For years friends recognised me easily in crowds because they just spotted my turquoise bag!

The Bag Woman

Ok to tell you the truth I needed a bag of inspiration.. It all started when I was in Anvers, Belgium 1989 and I saw a beautiful orange suede handbag. I had to have it... but it was way too expensive.... 300 guilders at the time equivalent to 300 Euros now.
I kept coming bag to the Bag... it was made by the same maker as the Perfume composer who made the fragrance Diva. My favorite at the time. I can’t find his name in my memory right no but I know when you relax it will come to you. Emanuel Ungaro.
It was very fancy. The pieces were finished off with cognac color leather. My friend was really sorry she had not spotted it before me. My weekend was unforgettable I guess it was the first time ever I had spend such an amount on an accessory. Yes I do realise you can buy cheaper bags. You can. But sometimes you fall in love and you can´t do anything about it.

I will have to dig up a photo of the bag. No I don´t have it no more I sold it at one of our famous queens days for only 15 Guilders... But at least I knew it got a new great home. The lady was really happy.
